A new and controversial research suggest that salt consumption has no negative health effects. This research contradicts a past campaign of the World Health Organization, which recommended to reduce the daily salt intake to 5 gram per person. 90,000 people from different communities and countries participated in the new research, and except in countries such as China, where the liberal consumption of soy sauce increased the daily sodium intake, no correlation was found between salt and high blood pressure and stroke risk factors. It was also found that low level of salts can even cause heart attacks.
