New GMO Labels Regulation and More FoodTech News

- The USDA has finally published its regulations for labeling genetically modified food products. These labels can help in regulating food marketing, but currently they don’t deal with issues such as food safety or technology limitations.
- Coca-Cola’s Venturing and Emerging Brands invested 15$ million in Iris Nova, an innovative beverage company which owns the brand Dirty Lemon.
- Hippeas, which produces organic, allergy-free chickpea puffs, closed a funding round of 8$ million and is planning to distribute its products in food chains and convenience stores across the US.
